This is a play script for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which has been rewritten to be suitable for ages 9 to 14. The script now also comes with a PDF teacher presentation to help you introduce the play and the characters to your students. A Midsummer Night’s Dream tells the story of four Athenian lovers who have a complicated yet dramatic love life. Lysander and Hermia loved each other and wished to be together. Helena loved Demetrius, but Demetrius loved Hermia, and Hermia’s father wanted him to marry his daughter. Hermia and Lysander decided to run off together into the woods. But the woods were haunted by the Fairy King and Queen - Oberon and Titania, and the King’s mischievous henchman, Puck. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. A reading comprehension activity, or informational text, with comprehension and grammar questions followed by an extension task about Ancient Greece. The Google Forms activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4 learning about Ancient History. When downloaded this resource includes a printable version of the reading comprehension and a PDF with a link that allows you to copy the Google Forms document and save it in your Google Drive. The activity can be completed by students online using tablets, phones or computers, and is easily assessed by teachers as all the answers are provided in a quick and easy format. Time allowance to complete: 5-10 minutes - read through the text individually. 30-40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity) Time allowance to assess: A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options. An Ancient China Escape Room activity about the Silk Road. Ideal for Year 5 or Year 6, the activity is perfect for group work, starting a new ancient history topic, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. This is a biography writing unit about the life and career of the new vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Perfect for Year 5 or Year 6. The first lesson is interactive and involves them cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. In the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work into a neat copy on the template provided. NO PREP is needed!
